Zola is a community preschool and feeding centre that is run by the African Children’s Feeding Scheme (ACFA). ACFA feeds nearly 40 000 kids with a peanut butter sandwich and glass of milk DAILY. They have centres similar to Zola in Kagiso, Alexandra, Thembisa, Daveyton, Kwa Thema and Tsakane . Zola Centre has its own pre-school with kids between the age of 3-6. These kids receive free education and 3 meals a day. The centre also has a self-sustaining vegetable garden, all the produce from this veggie garden is given to the parents of Zola in a weekly food pack.

The parent primary school to Zola centre is Vusizwe Primary School, the primary school kids walk down to Zola centre every day to receive their sandwich and milk (often their first and last meal of the day).

Mimmos teamed up with a social responsibility organisation called IMpossible who works hand in hand with ACFA and adds value to all of these centres. They teach the community about how to plant and grow their own vegetables, build green houses and give art lessons to the kids. In addition to this, IMpossible is involved with initiatives in the SPCA as well as Thabo September Foundation to name a few.

Mimmos donated about 4000 boxes of crayons to IMpossible.

Today (04/06/2015) we've handed over 800 boxes of crayons to the Zola Centre. This is a very small contribution in the larger scheme of things - but the kids excitement and smiles were priceless! We are look forward to handing over more crayons to these very deserving centres and communities.
